Buffalo, NY – For a second consecutive year, the taxable assessed value of properties in the town of Amherst has exceeded that in the city of Buffalo.
The town's valuation increased by about three percent, just above the rate of inflation, compared to rate of only about one percent in the city.
A Buffalo News analysis shows that most suburban towns saw slight gains in property valuation, with Clarence leading the region with a five percent increase.
West Seneca recorded a slight drop, attributed to the revaluation of property holdings by Niagara Mohawk and New York State Electric and Gas.
