Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Chips, UB's all-male acapella group, has made it to the final round of the International Championship of Collegiate Acapella [ICCA].
Saturday, they'll be going to the Lincoln Center in New York City to compete against the likes of Northwestern, Berklee, and the University of Southern California for the top honor. Marc Hoffman, a singer for the Chips and an MBA student at UB, says that whatever the result of the championship, he hopes their success will provide more opportunities for them nationally and at home in Buffalo.
"We want to build our relationship with the University at Buffalo," Hoffman said. "We want to let them know that we're a winning team and when we go out we represent UB. And we really like working with them at the gigs on campus that they ask us to do. So if we can get more attention from UB, that's a win-win relationship there."
Hoffman also says that just making it to the finals has opened up future opportunities for the group.
