Public Domain

Stage and screen star Polly Bergen passed away last Saturday at the age of 84. Nominated for a Golden Globe, a Tony, and multiple Emmy awards (she won for "The Helen Morgan Story"), she might be best remembered for her appearances on the television game show "To Tell the Truth."

Anthony Chase returns from NYC with comments on Buffalo-born playwright A.R. Gurney, whose "The Wayside Motor Inn" is in previews at Signature Theater, and notes that the Buffalo premiere of "Family Furniture" comes to the Kavinoky in January this season.

"The Liar" continues at Irish Classical as does "Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks" starring Anne Gayley at The Park School. And Broadway star Matthew Morrison (aka "Mr. Schue" on the TV series "Glee") opens the Buffalo Philharmonic Pops season at Kleinhans.

Listen for Theater Talk, Friday morning at 6:45 and 8:45 during Morning Edition.
