Having just seen A.R. Gurney's "Family Furniture" at the Kavinoky Theatre, Anthony Chase noticed strong parallels with Edward Albee's "A Delicate Balance" back on Broadway, especially upper class families who can talk a lot, but not about their problems. Also, fans of songwriter Jason Robert Brown who can't get tickets to "Honeymoon in Las Vegas" on Broadway can see Brown's "Songs for a New World" with O'Connell and Company at the Park School in Snyder.
"The Graduate" opened at the Alleyway Theatre starring Constance Mae Caldwell and Tyler Brown, reprising the Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman roles from the movie. "The Lion in Winter" has some strong actors (but not equally strong) at the Irish Classical Theatre Company and while "Motown" across the street at Shea's really delivers it's only up through Sunday.
Our far-flung correspondents note that "The Last of the Red Hot Lovers" is at the Woodbox Theatre in Niagara Falls while "Nunset Boulevard" continues the "Nunsense" franchise at the Lancaster Opera House.
