Legendary and multi-talented entertainer Ben Vereen appears Saturday evening with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra for the Pop Series. Vereen, well known for his Broadway work, brings his star power to Kleinhan's Music Hall. WBFO's Eileen Buckley had a chance to speak with Vereen ahead of Saturday's performance.
Ben Vereen's career has spanned four decades. Vereen is a worldwide entertainer who is a singer, dancer and actor. He has been a leading advocate on lecturing about black history and arts in education.
Vereen is full of energy and enthusiasm. He last performed in 1995 with the BPO and says he is thrilled to return to Buffalo.
"I'm so excited. It's been a long time since I've been with the symphony," said Vereen.

WBFO News asked Vereen what he likes about performing with the BPO.
"They're excellent. They're excellent artists, each and everyone of them in the orchestra," stated Vereen. "And I must applaud Buffalo for supporting the arts."
Vereen performance with the BPO is at 8 p.m. Saturday.
