Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced new grants equaling nearly $11 million in support of Advantage After School Programs across the state. The monies will help support after school programs that are designed to boost academic achievement, increase school attendance and deepen relationships amongst peer groups. Contracts controlling the funding will be administered by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and the programs will begin in September.
Local recipients include The Boys and Girls Clubs of Buffalo; Chautauqua Opportunities, Incorporated; People and Possibilities in Niagara County; and the YMCA of Jamestown.
