Some Buffalo residents living on the most narrowest of city streets say snow piles are making streets nearly impassable. But Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown tells WBFO News city Public Works Department crews are doing the best to remove the snow.
The Mayor said they're running out of space to push the snow along city side streets.
"It's a slow go. It's a difficult process," said Mayor Brown.
Last week an ambulance responding to an emergency call could not get down Bush Street in the city's Black Rock section. Fortunately residents were able to assist a man who was having a heart attack. WBFO News has learned that the crews are expected to be working along Bush Street this afternoon.
"Our major focus is on health and safety issues. We want to make sure that a ambulance can get down a street. We want to make sure a fire truck can get down a street," stated Mayor Brown.
WIVB Television aired a news story Tuesday evening show one of its surveillance camera along Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo capturing city snow plow driving in the wrong direction to clear snow in the early morning hours.
WBFO News asked the Mayor for his response to this dangerous action.
"It was one driver. We are concerned. The Commissioner of Public Works has already taken disciplinary action," said Mayor Brown.
