Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent Tonja Williams Knight painted a picture of a school district that’s emerging from the pandemic stronger than ever in her State of Schools Address.

Tonja Williams became interim superintendent of the Buffalo Public Schools district in March of this year. Williams, a Buffalo native has over 30 years experience as an educator. She started off as a counselor and worked her way up through the ranks. She spoke with WBFO about the new leadership role and how her connection to the Buffalo community makes her the right person for the job.

There's a new name on the door of the seventh floor of City Hall, with the surprise resignation Wednesday evening of Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent Kriner Cash by his interim replacement, Tonja Williams.
