For Thursday's blast of winter weather, timing is everything. Bob Hamilton of the National Weather Service expects a band of lake effect snow to move through the city of Buffalo between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Hamilton said the heavy snow and strong winds will reduce visibility for drivers, but the total accumulations should not exceed five inches Thursday. A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for Buffalo and Northern Erie County until 7 p.m. Thursday.
